While hunting one year out in the woods
I got the shock of my life
There was the biggest buck I'd seen
making love to his wife
Thought for a minute should I shoot
didn't know what to do
He looked right at his wife
said I guess this means we're through

A tear was running down her cheek
when he said goodbye
At this heartbreaking sight
I began to cry
Walked up closer to these two
said I cannot shoot
She gave me a little wink
Said I think you're kinda cute

I walked away with a smile on my face
I felt really good
Now I know what the good lord meant
when he said brotherhood
And every night when the moon is full
if you listen still
You can hear them making love
in the winter's chill

Yes you can hear them making love
in the winter's chill
