Informal Introduction by Robin - Spoken
You know back in 1975, I was about 14 or 15
years old and I had just started playing this here guitar... we
were on our way up to my Grandma Butch's house; in Sterling,
Michigan, and I wrote one of the first songs I ever wrote. About
half way up there I played it for Mom and dad, in the van there,
still on the road. I didn't have a name for it even, My Mom
promptly gave it a name. It was always the one she requested
whenever I played my guitar. When my first CD came out, she
promptly noted I'd probably never put that song on a CD and I
promptly agreed with her. But here it is, it's called Winter
Love...
While hunting one year out in the woods
I got the shock of my life
There was the biggest buck I'd seen
making love to his wife
Thought for a minute should I shoot
didn't know what to do
He looked right at his wife
said I guess this means we're through
A tear was running down her cheek
when he said goodbye
At this heartbreaking sight
I began to cry
Walked up closer to these two
said I cannot shoot
She gave me a little wink
Said I think you're kinda cute
I walked away with a smile on my face
I felt really good
Now I know what the good lord meant
when he said brotherhood
And every night when the moon is full
if you listen still
You can hear them making love
in the winter's chill
Yes you can hear them making love
in the winter's chill
fades to reprise
While hunting one year out in the woods
I got the shock of my life
There was the biggest buck I'd seen
making love to his wife
Thought for a minute should I shoot
didn't know what to do
He looked right at his wife
said I guess this means we're through...
